About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality and Compliance Coordinator to join our team at Coghlan's. In this role, you will oversee our quality assurance and regulatory compliance functions, ensuring our products meet all necessary standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will support the Product Development Team in executing the company’s quality strategy and maintaining our commitment to exceptional product standards. Your responsibilities will include organizing and managing quality inspection data, coordinating compliance activities, and developing processes to improve quality assurance. This position is suited to someone who thrives in a small team environment and is eager to learn and grow in an exciting and dynamic industry.
Specific Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development Team to develop and execute the company's quality assurance and regulatory compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives
- Lead quality and compliance tasks, which include managing compliance documentation, planning and coordinating internal and external audits, and analyzing quality reports
- Maintain communication with external auditors and regulatory bodies, providing necessary support and meeting all compliance requirements
- Research and understand new, upcoming, and current regulatory requirements for domestic and international markets
- Coordinate efforts with product development, supply chain, sales, and customer service departments to achieve quality and compliance goals
- Monitor and track quality and compliance metrics, ensuring all business activities adhere to industry standards and meet market regulations
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a STEM-related field
- Engineering or Technologist training is preferred but not required
- Experience in the manufacturing or consumer goods industry is preferred
- Strong technical skills
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documents
- Proficiency in using MS Office products
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- A passion for camping and outdoor recreation is considered a strong asset
