Equipment Required:

  • Coghlan's Anodized Aluminum Cookset
  • Coghlan's 3pc. Utensil Set
  • Whisk
  • Camp stove

Ingredients

French Toast

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6-8 slices of brioche bread

Strawberry Compote

  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey

Honey whipped cream (optional)

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 8-10 minutes

Directions

  1. Use Coghlans anodized fry pan to whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt. Set aside while you slice your strawberries.
  2. Add sliced strawberries and maple syrup to the Coghlans anodized small pot. Set over medium-low heat and allow to simmer slightly for 5-10 minutes. You want some juices to come out but to leave the berries mostly intact.
  3. To prepare honey whipped cream whisk together whipping cream and honey until soft peaks form.
  4. Heat Coghlans 10-inch skillet over medium heat on a camp stove.
  5. Once your pan is pre-heated, dip each slice of brioche into the custard mixture on both sides. Allow each side to sit in the mixture for 15-30 seconds per side.
  6. Place the soaked brioche on the hot skillet to cook until dark golden brown on both sides. Depending on how hot your pan is, this could be 2-4 minutes per side. Check the bottom of your slices frequently to avoid burning.
  7. Serve with honey whipped cream and strawberry compote.
