A stack of pancakes and fresh fruit on a blue plate sitting in the sun

They said it couldn't be done but we've made a simple breakfast even easier! Save yourself time morning-of by prepping the batter in advance before your trip. Plus, you can ditch the extra dishes to wash at camp thanks to our Squeeze Tubes. They're the perfect solution for easy batter and syrup pouring. No more batter drips all over the stove.

Equipment Required:

Ingredients

Makes 8 Pancakes

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 3 tsp. of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp. of sugar
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla extract

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Directions

  1. In large bowl, mix all dry ingredients until well combined.
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, then add the melted butter, egg, milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth (it's okay if there's a few lumps in the batter).
  3. Pour batter into Coghlan's Squeeze Tubes and fill to 1/2 - 3/4 full. Fold over 1/2 inch of the tube and slide plastic clip over the fold line to secure. (Store in cooler for up to 2 days.)
  4. Place the griddle on your stove and heat over medium heat. Use the squeeze tubes to evenly distribute the batter, leaving at least an inch between each pancake to prevent them from clumping together.
  5. Optional: Add your desired toppings such as blueberries or chocolate chips.
  6. Watch for tiny bubbles to appear in the batter (about 2 minutes), then flip. Cook the other side until golden brown (about another 2 minutes).
  7. Remove from heat. Top with maple syrup and butter. Or, venture beyond the classic combo and grab some fresh fruit, jam or icing sugar.
